Information Use
Market-it.com is an online service to assist webmasters in promoting their Web site(s). Users who register/sign-up and pay are granted access to the "members area" where they have access to various website promotion tools and resources. The members area allows users to save a "profile" of their contact info and Web site info (URL, keywords, site title, site description, etc) for use by the various promotion tools. Users are not required to save a profile, however doing so makes it more convenient to use the online tools (i.e. the user is not required to re-type all of his website info each time he uses a promotion tool; instead the info is extracted from the user's saved profile). In instances where a promotion tool would transmit the user's Web site info to a third-party Web site, a notice is posted on that particular promotion tool. The user may elect to not use that particular promotion tool if he desires to not have his information transmitted. An example of a promotion tool which transmits user info is the "Search Engine Submission Tool."
This tool transmits the user's Web site URL, site title, site description, keywords, and contact info, to various seach engines, as an official "submission" those engines, so that they may review the Web site and possible list the Web site in their search engine directory.

We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third parties to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the users personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user's visit to our Web site, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. We do not share your profile with other third parties. Internet browser help file directions.
Cookies may be used to track the commissions earned by our affiliate resellers.
Cookies also help the user's experience on our Web site. One use of cookies is to track
whether the user has seen a special offer, then on subsequent visits to our website that
user will not be exposed to the special offer which they have seen previously.
In the members only are of the website, cookies may be used to direct brand new members
to special tutorial sections of the website.
Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files.
This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type,

date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site,
track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic
information for aggregate use.
IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
During registration/signup, for security and fraud protection,
IP addresses are tied to personally identifiable information.
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs),
that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective.
Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Clear gifs are not tied to users' personally identifiable information.

Links
This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, eHits Inc., are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.
Chat Area / Message Board
If you use a bulletin board or chat room on this site, you should be aware that any personally
identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users
of those forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages.
Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line.
When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just ‘surfing'. To learn more about SSL, follow this link www.verisign.com or www.verisign.com/support/whitepapers.html
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices.
Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or
a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment, in a locked facility which requries access by keycard and fingerprint identification.
If users have any questions about the security at our Web site, users can contact eHits Inc. Security via the online contact form at www.eHits.com
Supplementation of Information
In order for this Web site to properly fulfill its obligation to users it is necessary
for us to supplement the information we receive with information from 3rd party sources.
Credit Check
User's purchases are processed through a third-party billing company, who uses "data scrubbing" technology
in order to verify the identity of the purchaser, and to check their credit worthiness.
Excessive past returns and/or excessive past credit card chargebacks, among other factors,
contribute to a user's score during data scrubbing. The higher the score, the more likely the
transaction will be denied.
AVS Address Verification
eHits Inc. and/or our third-party billing company use AVS (Address Verification System)
technology to verify a user's identity and physical address, in order to confirm that
they are the owner of the credit card. Further it is required that the user to type the
CCV2 number, located on the signature strip on the back of the credit card, to confirm that
they have the physical card in hand.
Purchasing History
In order to for this Web site to enhance its ability to tailor the site to a user's preference,
we combine information about the purchasing habits of users with similar information from our
other websites, to create a personalized user profile. When a user makes a purchase from
any eHits website, we collect personal demographic information which may be shared with
other eHits websites. For a list of eHits websites, visit www.eHits.com
Enhancement of Marketing Profile
We may from time to time purchase third party marketing data
and add it to our existing user database to better target our advertising
and provide pertinent offers we think our users would be interested in.
We use this information to enhance or overlay the ‘profile' of individual users.
This aggregate marketing data is therefore tied to the users' personally identifiable information.
See also the Profile section of this privacy policy.
Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
If a user wishes to review their personnally identifiable information, or if this information changes
(such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires our service,
we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users' personally identifiable information.
This can usually be done at the Market-It.com members website, or by contacting Customer Support
through the Help Desk at www.Market-It.com/support or via the Customer Service Fax Line: 858-485-6702
or by postal mail to eHits Inc., 10616 Scripps Summit Court, Suite 210, San Diego, CA 92131 USA.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
If, however, we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our Web site notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also email users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.
